Even if it’s impossible to get bored in Vancouver, during our trip we decided to cross the border with the USA to reach Seattle.
In this city it was founded Starbucks, and this is a good reason to go there!
Getting the ESTA to cross the US border was quick and easy via https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ site.
We hired a car with Hertz in Canada Place, and in about three driving hours we reached Seattle.

A city full of life, very american and young, easy to explore by foot starting from Piooner Square up to the Space Needle, the symbol tower that seems to come from The Jetsons cartoon!

The pier is the part of the city that we preferred for two reasons:
– Here there is the first Starbucks opened to the world in the 70s, and taking a relaxing break drinking a cappuccino is a must!
– The second reason is called Pike Place Market, and it is the most amazing thing that you can find in Seattle.

In this crowded and fully covered market, you can find everything: fruit, vegetables, meat, spices and of course fish.
A mix of colors, scents, smells and lights that bring joy immediately.
But the real show is the fishmongers who improvise skits singing and letting fishes through the banks. Not to be missed!
It’s the true commercial heart of the city, close to the ocean.
If you want to find out more, here you can find the video diary of our trip!

Hi guys.
Again thanks a lot for an amazing post! I was thinking about getting a ride from Vancouver to Seattle but at the end, I will not have time for it =(.
But I will have a 5hrs layover on Seattle airport on my way back to Europe..do you think it is good idea to step out from the airport and visit the town? It is possible to make it in just few hours?
Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael!
Yes, would be great! You can move from the airport to the city and go straight to the Public Market (in front of the ocean) that is the most incredible part of Seattle! You’ll spend about 1/2 hrs to visit it.
Then you can have a look around the commercial block and take a break to Starbucks.
Let us know 🙂
Cheers
